The Ottawa Disc Golf Club (ODGC) has a mandate to organize and promote the growth and development of Disc Golf throughout the Ottawa-Gatineau region. The ODGC strives to foster open and regular communication within our membership and the broader Disc Golf community. 

PRESIDENT Laurie Dotto

Laurie has been involved with disc sports for many years. He was a Freestyle and Guts player, continues to play Ultimate and is an avid Disc Golfer, both recreationally and competitively.

Laurie is retired and can often be found playing Disc Golf with his wife Karen on a local course or planning their next Disc Golf holiday.

As the new ODGC President, he is passionate about bringing a new Disc Golf course to Ottawa and wants to continue to build the sport across the Ottawa-Gatineau region, by bringing more youth and women into the sport.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors (BoD) are responsible to manage and direct the affairs of the club. The BoD consists of a President, Treasurer and 6 elected board members. Each Board member serves a term of 2 years, with terms staggered so each year 3 positions are up for election. All positions are on a volunteer basis.

  • Ken Darcovich

    Ken has been involved and committed to all aspects of disc golf in the Ottawa area since it was first established in 1997 and has had an administrative role with the ODGC since the club was formed in 2002. This has given Ken a unique comprehensive perspective on the Ottawa disc golf scene. As a board member, he seeks to encourage, guide and enable good member-driven initiatives to keep the club vital and dynamic.

  • Dietrich Sider

    A lifetime outdoor sports lover in all seasons. Dietrich starting playing disc golf in 2015 and first joined the ODGC in 2018. He loves every course and has goals to grow the sport while keeping it fun and accessible for everyone.

  • Dwayne Dowdell

    Dwayne brings a wealth of life and Disc Golf leadership experience. He is a retired Ontario Provincial Police Investigator and a co-founder of the Ferguson Forest Disc Golf Course in Kemptville. Dwayne has experience in designing several Disc Golf courses. He has experience working with elected officials, collaborating with
    sponsors and growing Disc Golf club membership.

  • Brian Guthrie

    Brian Guthrie is a retired professional engineer living in Orleans.  Throughout his life, he’s been active in a variety of sports and coaching roles.  He played competitive Ultimate, and was one of the founders of the Ottawa Carleton Ultimate Association.  He has played all of our Ottawa-area Disc Golf courses, as well as over 50 different courses across North America.  He’s a member of the PDGA, ODGC, Ettyville & Kemptville clubs.  As a member of the ODGC New Course Committee, Brian is promoting and advising on the siting and design of new courses across our region.  He is keen on expanding Disc Golf to diverse communities, including kids, women, seniors and communities.  Brian was appointed to the ODGC Board in March 2026, for a two-year term.

  • Jacob Mainville

    Jacob Mainville (pictured above and left) is a recent university graduate with a background in finance and analytics. He has been an active member of the ODGC for over five years and is a passionate competitive disc golfer, regularly traveling across Ontario, Quebec, and the United States to compete at the MPO level. Jacob plans to leverage his data and analytical skills to support the club’s advocacy efforts and help expand disc golf opportunities throughout the region.
