The Ottawa Disc Golf Club (ODGC) has a mandate to organize and promote the growth and development of Disc Golf throughout the Ottawa-Gatineau region. The ODGC strives to foster open and regular communication within our membership and the broader Disc Golf community.
PRESIDENT Laurie Dotto
Laurie has been involved with disc sports for many years. He was a Freestyle and Guts player, continues to play Ultimate and is an avid Disc Golfer, both recreationally and competitively.
Laurie is retired and can often be found playing Disc Golf with his wife Karen on a local course or planning their next Disc Golf holiday.
As the new ODGC President, he is passionate about bringing a new Disc Golf course to Ottawa and wants to continue to build the sport across the Ottawa-Gatineau region, by bringing more youth and women into the sport.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Board of Directors (BoD) are responsible to manage and direct the affairs of the club. The BoD consists of a President, Treasurer and 6 elected board members. Each Board member serves a term of 2 years, with terms staggered so each year 3 positions are up for election. All positions are on a volunteer basis.
Ken has been involved and committed to all aspects of disc golf in the Ottawa area since it was first established in 1997 and has had an administrative role with the ODGC since the club was formed in 2002. This has given Ken a unique comprehensive perspective on the Ottawa disc golf scene. As a board member, he seeks to encourage, guide and enable good member-driven initiatives to keep the club vital and dynamic.
Mike is a long time participant in disc golf. Goals for the club are to keep disc golf accessible for everyone as well as enable competitive options for players.
Justin has been involved with the ODGC since 2017 and runs local leagues and tournaments. He is the current TD of the Plaid Jacket Championship and the Larrimac Evening Tags Series.
Angelica has been disc golfing since 2015 and sits on the Ontario Disc Golf Association board in addition to her ODGC board role. She also leads the KDGC club in tandem with a few others, running two local sanctioned tournaments annually, the KDGC tags league and the KDGC doubles league. Her focus is on diversity in disc golf and ensuring the sport is a welcome space for everyone. She’s a new mom to baby Zeddicus (DGPT champ by 2040?), and by day builds escape rooms across Ontario.
A lifetime outdoor sports lover in all seasons. Dietrich starting playing disc golf in 2015 and first joined the ODGC in 2018. He loves every course and has goals to grow the sport while keeping it fun and accessible for everyone.
Dave is a long-time disc golfer and a member of the ODGC board as well as the New Course & Course Renewal Committees. Using his education and experience in Economics, Procurement, and Sustainability, he sees a long-term growth plan that will help make the National Capital Region one of the strongest disc golf regions in the country.
