We had our ODGC Annual General Meeting (AGM) last week which was well attended by our members. For those interested, here is the link to the minutes: 2024 AGM Minutes
As we reflect on 2023, here are a few of our achievements:
- 148 paid members, our highest ever!
- ODGC members participated and placed in many tournaments including Ontario Provincial Disc Golf Championships, Canadian Disc Golf Championships, U.S. Masters Championships, NADGT National Championships, and PDGA Junior Disc Golf World Championships.
- Over 15,000 rounds recorded on U-Disc in the Ottawa-Gatineau area.
- 2 New Courses to be installed in 2024! A 9 hole course in Centrepointe Park, Nepean and a 9 hole course in Parc de Lac Beauchamp, Gatineau.
- The New Course Committee is very active & is continuing to explore new locations.
- A new ODGC Website was launched, and updated regularly
- Discord was launched, now has 18 channels and 152 users
- A Communications survey was launched in Nov 2023 for ODGC members, we will continue to provide tournament updates, use all social channels & launch an ODGC Newsletter in 2024.
- The Ottawa team won the coveted Pelican, a long running Ottawa-Montreal match for the 1st time in 8 years!
Looking ahead in 2024-25, the ODGC will continue to seek out more new disc golf courses, to organize more skills workshops and tournaments and to support the growth of Disc Golf in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
