Ottawa Disc Golf Club – 2024 Election Announcement
There will be an election to fill three (3) positions on the ODGC Board of Directors. The election will be by email between March 10th - 17th, 2024. There will be two ways to vote: Electronically before the Annual General Meeting (AGM), or in person at the AGM on Monday, March 18th, 2024. The AGM will be held at The Rainbow Bistro, located at 76 Murray Street in the ByWard Market in Ottawa from 6:30 - 9:00 pm.
Official Electronic ballots will be emailed to all members in good standing on March 10th, 2024, and must be returned by email to odgcelections@gmail.com by midnight on March 17th, 2024. To vote in person, you must attend the AGM.
Either way, in order to vote, you must be a member in good standing (i.e. have paid your dues for 2024). An official list of members in good standing can be found at https://odgc.ca/members.
Election Rules
Who is eligible to run for a board position?
To be eligible for election to the board, under section 7 of the club Bylaws, you must be:
- A member in good standing of the Ottawa Disc Golf Club
- 18 years of age or older, with the power under law to contract
- Be nominated by three (3) current ODGC members in good standing
How do I nominate someone?
All nominations must be received by email at odgcelections@gmail.com no later than February 29th, 2024 at 6:00pm. Any three members in good standing may nominate someone for election to the board, and their nomination must include the following items:
- The full name and email address of the person they are nominating.
- The person nominated must be copied in the nomination email
Furthermore, the nominee must accept their nomination and send such notice to the Election Officer and to the person who has nominated them.
Official Election Notice and Candidate Platforms
Following the close of nominations at midnight on February 20th, 2024, the ODGC Election Officer will publish, by email, website, and social media an official election notice and the candidate platforms as required under Section 10 of the club Bylaws. All confirmed candidates should submit their platform (not to exceed 1 typewritten page) to the Election Officer no later than February 29th, 2024.
