Since 2002, the intrepid disc golfers of the Nation’s Capital have been braving the winter elements in support of the Ottawa Food Bank. The 15th annual Ottawa Ice Bowl disc golf tournament will take place on Saturday February 13th, 2016 at the Pineview Golf Course on Blair Road in Gloucester, ON. Ribbon your discs, throw on a parka and come join us and help a great cause.
Disc golf in the winter you say? It’s snow joke.
Every Saturday, from November until February, disc golfers of all ages and skill, will be throwing ribboned-frisbees on some of the best courses in the National Capital Region. It’s a great way to get out and enjoy the colder months, stay in form for the summer season, and to help out the Ottawa Food Bank.
This year marks the 14th Annual Ottawa Ice Bowl which will be held at the Kanata Disc Golf Course, on February 7th, 2015. The ODGC, through the Ice Bowl and Ice League, has been raising money and food for the Food Bank for 14 years.
The start times and locations for Ice League vary, so be sure to check the schedule that is updated on a regular basis here;

The eleventh season on the Hill is in the books, and it was a good one. Players from all over the world experienced one of the best disc golf courses in the country, and from their reviews, they loved it.
Thank you to all the players who played Camp Fortune and respected the property, equipment and other park users, by taking their trash off the mountain, sharing the paths and recognizing how fortunate we are to be at Camp Fortune.
A big thanks to all the ODGC Member volunteers, past and present, who have made Camp Fortune the destination for disc golf in the region. Over the last decade, ODGC Members have poured their blood, sweat and tears into making the Hill not only playable, but incredibly enjoyable. For Members, here’s where you can get your autumn disc golf fix.
If you would like to support the organization that has provided disc golf in the region over the last 16 years, you can become a member, simply by emailing info_at_odgc_dot_ca and tell a Jeff you want to join.
See you on the Hill in the spring!
On September 28th, we’re going back to The Canadian Golf & Country Club. We’re playing 18 beautiful holes. We’ll test our water mettle five times. And we’ll have our cart girl!
The Canadian’s physical features offers Ottawa disc golfers what they miss from JCP; exceptional disc golf terrain, non-losable-disc-grass, water OB and two courses that will challenge and reward the best golfers that day. The Plaid Course Designers are a mix of some of the most respected course designers in Ottawa, and are looking at the design of the courses for all levels of golfers. They have you in mind.
The 2014 Plaid Jacket will be the second, of three, Tier 1 events in the 2014 Presidents Cup Series.
There is a great possibility that the top player of the day will gain +1400 Presidents Cup points for their total, as well as win the most prestigious trophy in Ottawa Disc Golf; The Plaid Jacket.
This will not be a walk in the park; we will cart it.
For more information on the day or how to pre-register, check out The 2014 Plaid Jacket – Sunday, September 28th.
